Y1 & 2 - Henwood Class

Henwood Class
Years 1 and 2
Miss Cachia is our Teacher and she is also a Forest School Lead and our History and Geography Subject Lead. Mrs Martin and Mrs Carthew are our Teaching Assistants. We are a busy class of 28 children who love to ask questions, explore and get creative!
Our new wonderful topic is all about the history of toys! So far, we have looked at toys from Miss Cachia's era, we have looked at toys from Granny Jude's era and next we will be looking further back to explore Victorian toys. A topic web, homework grid and some knowledge organisers (facts and information) can be found below.
A typical Henwood Week will be as follows:

Class communication letter sent (weekly spellings will appear on here as the term progresses, we will continue to follow the Year 1 and 2 Word List in their homework books).
PE with Mr Jones. Children should come to school wearing their PE kit and outdoor trainers for the whole day- they can wear joggers instead of shorts if they want to.
Forest School afternoon, alternating weeks for each year group. On their Forest School day, children will come to school wearing Forest School clothes and indoor shoes. They should bring wellies and waterproofs in a separate bag.
